Today started off well. I had a color melt first thing in the
morning and it turned out awesome! I forgot to take pictures of her hair,
but hopefully she sends me some soon and I will make sure to post them!
After lunch my Aunt Terri came in to get a retouch. About a month or so ago we
did an EXTREMELY heavy weave. It looked amazing. This time I decided to go with some
advice I got to save me some time. I did what you call "breaking the base". Though
I'm sure it works for some people, it definitely did not work for me! I was in a
huge panic and did not cover it up too well. I could see the line between the
new color and the existing color and about pooped my pants. PLUS the
low light we choose turned out to be a little darker than planned. The retouch
that I applied ended up being a little orange so we toned with a 9B.
Even after that it was still a little warm and when I had done a low light I did a
slice stitch instead of a micro stitch. Another bad idea. SO I went
back and added some more foils between each low light. Let's just say it
was a nightmare. I started her color around 2pm and finished her cut and color
around 6:20pm... I was worn out, discouraged, and disappointed in my
negative attitude. Here are the before and afters:

It really didn't even turn out that bad, but if you look close enough
you can see what I'm talking about. I cut her hair into a longer A-Line and in
the back the color was totally playing with my eyes. I wish I would've done a micro
stitch with the low light. Shoulda, coulda,woulda.. Though this was a negative
experience for me, I learned many lessons. 1. I do not enjoy breaking the base 2. In blonde hair, when doing a low light, it's better to do a stich than a slice 3. If
trying something new,do it on an awesome Aunt who is laid back and will love
you no matter what 4. ALWAYS STAY POSITIVE and 5. Keep your head up. Everyone
makes mistakes and it's from the mistakes you can become better!

Chels this is not a mistake it's all about learning and it sounds like you totally learned a lot! I promise once you do something once that you hated you won't ever do it again! But I think it turned out awesome still!
